Aeschynomene fluitans is a flowering floater plant often found on the surface of slow-moving rivers, ponds and flood plains. Its stems are hollow,  becoming somewhat white and hairy with age.

The Leaves consist of 16-26 pairs of leaflets that slowly closes when touched.
